犬山鵜飼の解説
| 犬山鵜飼解説 今から約330年ほど前、犬山城成瀬家3代の城主成瀬正親（まさちか）の頃より始められた。しかし、6代目成瀬正典（まさのり）が「殺生禁断の令」を発し以後90年間の中断という苦難の歴史を歩みました。その後、明治32年復興し現在に至っています。 「犬山鵜飼」の特色はお客様がお乗りになる「屋形船」と鵜匠が乗る 「鵜舟」が同時に下るので、長時間に渡って「漁」を目のあたりにすることができます。また、鵜飼終了後、「鵜舟」を「屋形船」が取り囲み、鵜匠がお客様に「犬山鵜飼」の歴史を語るなど、「鵜飼」直接触れることができます。 |
Cormorant Fishing Cormorant Fishing of Inuyama City began about 330 years ago. Unfortunately,it was interrupted later by the order of a lord of the Inuyama Castle. After having been suspeended for about 90 years, it was resumed in 1899 as the result of the strong request mabe by citizens and has been continuously performed since then. One of the features of the cormorant fishing of Inuyama is that the spectators in a houseboat can enjoy watching the fishing for a long time. This is because they go down the river side by side with a fishing boat in which the master called "Usho"is skillfully handling cormorants. |

鵜の特徴 鵜飼に使う鵜は川鵜より体がひとまわり大きな海鵜を使います。この鵜は厳冬期ソビエト方面より渡ってくるものを主に、茨城県川尻海岸で捕らえます。野生の鵜を訓練し一人前の鵜飼用鵜として育てることも鵜匠の腕の見せどころと言えましょう。 |
About the Cormorant The cormorant used for fishing is a Temminck's cormorant which is slightly larger than the common cormorant. Cormorants fly all the way from the Soviet Union to Japan during the severest winter. When they arrive at the Kawajiri coast in lbaragi Prefecture, some of them are caught and trained for fishing. Training wild cormorants into tame cormorants for fishing also depends on the skill of the master. |

Cormorant Fishing Show at a Parlor You can watch the cormorant fishing at a parlor,superbly performed by a fisherman accoading to the traditional ritual. This show is held during the off-season (October 1 to May 31 next year) when ayu (sweet fish) fishing is legally prohibited. |

風折烏帽子 かがり火から頭髪を守るため、黒あるいは紺の麻布を頭に巻きつけています。 |

Muneate : Apron The fisherman wears an apron to protect his body from sparks and pine resin oil. In its inner poket are repairing tools and other utensils. |

Gyofuku : Fishing Clothes The fishing clothes are kimono with tight sleeves made of cotton in black or dark blue. The cuffs are fastened with clasps. |

Koshimino : Straw skirt The fisherman wears a knitted skirt made of straw to protect his body from coldness. |

Ashinaka : Foot Gear The fisherman wears a special footgear that is half as long as the ordinary footgear so that he may not slip on the fish fat or fur. |
